Day 15: London Calling
Today, we made the flight to London. After some time in the Frankfurt airport, we took flight and went up to England. We landed in Heathrow Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world. It wasn't that bad though. We were able to make it to the Underground just fine.
The Underground was a very interesting thing to ride. It's like the Subway in New York, but it's British and it goes above ground a few times.
Our hotel was located near Tralfagar Square, a monument built to commemorate the victory of the British over the French during the Battle of Tralfagar. Along the way, we saw iconic red buses and telephone booths. We even saw some advertisements for musicals since we were near the West End district.
That evening, we had a bus tour of the city. We saw several sights, including Big Ben, the London Eye, the Shard, Tower Bridge, London Bridge, Picadally Circus, Cleopatra's Needle, and other things. We honestly saw so much that it would be impossible to put it all in here, and this was just the tip of the iceberg. We just looked at these places, but it did make me want to go in them. After the tour, we went back to the hotel, but first, we bought some things for breakfast.
