Day 1-2: The Beginning
(Insert Picture Here)
This has been something we've been wanting to do for a long time. I've been wanting to see the world since I was young, so this was a big experience for me. To have it for my graduation trip is a blessing.
I'll have to admit though, it got off to a rough start. We got on a plane to Atlanta, but we never made it there. Why? Because it took too long to get the plane going, so we wouldn't have made our plane to Frankfurt in time. Yes, I was frustrated about it, and I hated waiting, but at least we got to another flight to Paris. It got the longest part of the traveling over with and it got us to Europe sooner.
Paris had three separate airports, and the one we went to was kind of strange. We had to take buses to certain parts of the airport, we had to go through security three times, and we had a rather difficult time navigating it. We spent time eating lunch and looking around. I wanted to see if there was a store for Disneyland Paris. We were able to find one, but it was behind security, so there was that. Luckily, we got out of this crazy airport soon enough and got onto a very small plane that took us to Frankfurt. The good news is that we got there. The bad news is that they accidentally left one of our bags in Paris.
We spent some time in Frankfurt and got to see the old city. It was so cool to be immersed in an entirely other place besides the United States. it was also interesting to see how old some of these buildings were. While we were down here, we ate some bratwursts and walked on the bridge across the River Main (which is actually pronounced "Mine.") It was fun to see, but it wore me out. I collapsed on the bed that night and went right to sleep.
Our hotel was a small, family-run business that was kind of old school. There were only a few floors, not many rooms, and no air conditioning. It was nice though, because it gave us an authentic German feel. Mom and I also got a scenic view of the cathedral from our window.
I love this! What a fun way to look back on our trip. It really warmed my heart for you to recognize it as a blessing. And I really like to hear your perspective from your commentary. I can’t wait to read the rest! Thanks for sharing it with me!
